As the immediate danger brought on by Harvey subsides, Lone Star College-Kingwood students are left wondering when classes will resume.
According to Media Relations Coordinator, Rocelyn Bastian, classes will officially resume the week of Sept. 25 at LSC- Atascocita Center and the East Montgomery County Improvement District (EMCID) Complex in New Caney. Although, most of Fall 2017 courses that students enrolled in will be converted into online or hybrid (combination of online and face-to-face class meetings) classes. Health care occupation programs and courses that require face-to-face interactions will be arranged with community partners to house such programs.
Chancellor, Stephen Head confirmed that the LSC-Kingwood campus has extensive water damage and that there will be an option of taking 6, 8, 12, 14 week courses.
The LSC- Atascocita Center is located at 15903 West Lake Houston Parkway. Approximately 14 miles away from LSC-Kingwood. According to the Apple app, Maps, it’s 25 minutes away.
The EMCID complex is located at 21575 US-59 North in New Caney. A short 4 minute drive from the LSC-Kingwood campus making it 1.7 miles according to Maps.
