Spring Break is around the corner which means that students are now ready to take trips throughout the country or better yet, stay in the Lone Star State. Many students would much rather travel to the famous cities in Texas. So here are
- Galveston, Texas
Galveston, Texas is 59 miles or about an 1 and ½ hour drive time from Kingwood, TX. It is easily accessible and very friendly budget wise. Galveston’s activities range from prices such as Schlitterbahn Water Park or Bryan Museum. On the other hand, spend next to nothing on the beach or window shopping at the boutique shops located throughout the beach city.
- Austin, Texas
Austin, Texas is 159 miles or about a 3 hour car ride from Kingwood, TX.
Going to Austin is a great bonding ride with friends. If you are jazzed about government, this is the place for you. Not only is it the home of the LBJ presidential library, it is also home to Texas’ capitol and therefore the capitol building. If that’s not your thing, there’s plenty of other activities like walking tours, brewery tours, and even a house of wax.
- San Antonio, Texas
San Antonio, TX is 222 miles or 3 and 1/2 hours car ride from Kingwood, TX.
San Antonio has a variety of things to do from the Alamo and Riverwalk downtown, Zoo and Botanical Gardens in the central city to Six Flags and SeaWorld in the northwest of the town. With such a variety, it makes it hard to make a decision.
- Dallas, Texas
Dallas, TX is about 250 miles or 4 hours from Kingwood, TX. Although it’s a little bit of a drive, it’s definitely worth the wait.
The question is what there’s not to do in Dallas.A few of these would be going to the Dallas Arboretum or catch a glimpse of the Texas Rangers in the midst of Spring Training. Downtown Dallas also has many opportunities like aquariums, eclectic restaurants, and art museums.
- Houston, Texas
If you’re looking for a short trip, Houston, TX is 28 miles or 34 minute drive from Kingwood, TX.
Perfect for a group of friends to decide on last minute and still have the funds and time to make it the trip of a lifetime. Things like the Houston Zoo, the Space Center, Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Natural History, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo top the list.
However, there are still many more things to do such as the Galleria, City Tours, and a multitude of restaurants. There’s so much more to do in Houston.
