Winter is no longer coming. It’s here and with it comes several events including light shows that can get you all the holiday spirit you need. Not sure where to take the family during the holiday season? Check these out
Hello, Trees! A Walking Serenade
November 18th thru February 25th
Deep in the heart of Houston, Discovery Green is putting up a festival of lights across their oaks area. At the end of the road you can speak into input consoles and watch as the lights correspond with your voice.
November 18th thru January 14th
Zoo lights returns to the Houston Zoo with over 2 million lights presented by TXU Energy. Grab a glass of hot cocoa as you walk through a 15 mile spectacle. Not to mention, there are some other features on specific nights such as an enchanted forest. Tickets range from $11.95 to $19.95 based on your zoo membership status and what night it is.
December 9th | 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
It’s tradition for the Woodland Heights neighborhood to produce a spectacular light show the first Saturday in December. But don’t worry, the lights don’t turn off until well after Christmas so if you want a less crowded affair this is your place to go.
Moody Gardens Festival of Lights
November 11th thru January 7th
Wish to see more than a million lights by the sea? Moody Gardens has you covered. They not only provide this amazing spectacle but also provide an Ice Land where skilled carvers have given you a magical journey through the rainforest with a slide down the giant ice slide that takes you throughout the entire jungle. Admission is $15.95 for the regular exhibit and Ice Land is $26.95 for adults and $21.95 for children.
