Registering for classes can be daunting for many students. This process includes finding out their degree requirements and the amount of courses needed. Simplifying your registration process helps them plan out semesters and can aid them in leading a successful college career. To make things easier for students, here are some answers to their questions.

Q: How do I register for the Spring 2018 semester?

A: Registration for the Spring 2018 semester opened on Nov. 15. There are two ways you can enroll for the Spring semester. You can go to Student Services in the Student Conference Center and meet with an advisor to choose the right courses. If you can’t make it to the SCC, then you can easily register through your myLoneStar Student Homepage under the Enrollment tab.

Q: Will there be any face-to-face classes at the Lone Star College-Kingwood campus?

A: It isn’t clear which classes will be face-to-face on our Kingwood campus, but we know that a few will be offered here. In a student letter to students, the president of Lone Star College-Kingwood, Katherine Persson, wrote that students will have the following choices for hybrid and face-to-face class formats: LSC-Kingwood, LSC-Atascocita Center, East Montgomery County Improvement Center (EMCID), and the new addition of the Process Technology Center.

Q: How do I know what classes I need to take?

A: You can easily set up an appointment with an advisor in the SCC or at any LSC campus to help plan out your semester and choose your classes.

Q: When is the payment deadline for Spring 2018?

A: According to the Lone Star College website, the payment deadline is on January 6.

Q: Is there any advice on how to be successful in online courses?

A: The Howler has many sources for you to use while taking online classes, including a presentation on how to take notes, and how to avoid procrastination.
