Roller coasters: a thrill ride with a love, hate relationship. Love them or hate them, however, it is the first ride that will shape the future of the relationship.
For me, this experience was amazing and something about the adrenaline made me want to ride them all day long.
The first time visiting an amusement park was Six Flags Fiesta Texas.Throughout the car ride to Six Flags, I tell my parents that I am terrified of the rides. My mom tells me that it is fine, not many accidents happen on them, which did not help me feel any better. At this point, I really did not understand why we were going.
Once we get there, my first instinct is to get on the first ride I see, which is the Boomerang, a two-person roller coaster that goes super fast frontward–and backward.
As I wait in line, I start to get anxious and my heartbeat starts to accelerate. All I hear is people scream and yell. What makes me get on the ride is seeing a group young kids get off happy.
After waiting for about an hour, I am ready, ready to finally get on my first roller coaster.
As the ride starts to move I get worried, I close my eyes and all of a sudden I’m looking down on the loop.
Reaching the top, which is 48 feet up. We stop and the pressure locks.
At a stand still for about five seconds, I close my eyes again and wait for the pressure to be released.
All of the sudden “whoosh” we are going backward. All of this happened in less than a minute. I honestly thought the ride was about 5 minutes long but when I check the time nothing but two minutes had passed.
The next ride, the Superman, is a four-person roller coaster. My dad is just as scared as me, if not more.
My dad is forced to get in the ride with me because my sister was too little and my mom would never get on the ride. He is shaking, worried and about to turn back.
I, on the other hand, filled with adrenaline and ready for the big loop where Superman stands pulled ahead.
This has been my favorite ride ever since. Every time we go to Six Flags, I have to get on the Superman. It’s a ride that I’ll never get bored of.
My overall experience with rollercoasters has been amazing, which is why I have ridden all of them at Six Flags. Now when we’re on our way to Six Flags, I’m not scared of them anymore and I know that I will be safe in them. I can feel the adrenaline rush just thinking about it.
