Where to Host Study Sessions: Local Areas

With the changes in the class schedules and relocations that have occurred for Lone Star College students, study spots are essential when adapting to the changes that have happened this semester. Having a quiet, focused place to study helps with concentration and developing better study skills. Below is a list of places found around the Houston area for college students that need a more focused study atmosphere.

  • Black Hole Coffee House

This coffee shop is a hang out/study spot for college students. It offers free wifi access to people and a variety of foods with coffee and other drinks. It’s located at 4505 Graustark St, Houston, Texas 77006 and is open Monday through Sunday from 6:30 A.M. to 12:00 A.M. Their two forms of contacting them are by phone at 713-528-0658 and email at blackholecoffee@hotmail.com.

  • Grindbreak eSports Cafe

Grindbreak is a cafe where good health is their motivation behind their foods and drinks. They serve freshly-roasted coffee, premium teas, 100% fruit smoothies,  Anti-bacterial filtered water and freshly made sandwiches. Though it is a hang-out spot, it’s also a place where people can disconnect or get some work done if needed. Grindbreak is located at 114 1st Street W. Humble, Texas 77338. If you’re in a rush and just need some good quality food, they also have take-out option available.  

  • Choice Coffee House by Gloria

Gloria’s coffee house has a variety of food and drinks you can pick from. This coffee house has hot coffee, espressos, frappes and smoothies. Their food varies from tacos to sandwiches. They serve breakfast and lunch as well. It is located at 1122 1st Street E. Humble, Texas 77338 and is opened from Monday to Friday from 7:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. closed on Saturday’s and Sunday’s. Their contact information is 832-803-4580 for any further questions or concerns you may have.

 

  • Starbucks

 

Yes! The well-known Starbucks we coffee lover’s enjoy. It has free wifi access and a very calm, quiet atmosphere for students. They offer both hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, desserts and salads. Although finding a Starbucks is not complicated at all, there is one available at 5353 Farm to Market 1960, Humble, Texas 77346 opened  Monday through Thursday from 5:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M, Friday to Saturday from 5:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M, and Sunday from 6:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M.  

 

So there you have it. If you need study sessions or a simple disconnect from life, you can stop by whichever four coffee shops stated above to enjoy some coffee and get some work done. Remember, stay positive, love yourself, unwind and most of all never give up.
