5 Eats That Will Make You Gobble ‘Til You Wobble

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it’s time to take out the apron and start cooking. Thanksgiving dinner is the best part of the Turkey Day we are all looking forward too. Sometimes buying the specifics for Thanksgiving dinner can be a hassle and overwhelming. Standing in long lines and grabbing things at the last minute is a big no, no. So here are five must haves for Thanksgiving dinner that could help make the process go by smoother.

 

  • Cranberry Sauce 

When cranberry sauce comes into the mix, life is so much better don’t you think? Cranberry sauce is mostly known for being used as a glaze over the turkey or ham, but there are so many other recipes you could use it for. The sauce is sweet and tastes amazing with the company of a big family dinner.

 

  • Pie

Now everyone knows that pie is a must have for Thanksgiving dinner. A home-cooked or store-bought dessert is a great idea after all the eating that is done on this day of gratitude. There are different types of pies available to make from scratch or pre-made at your local food store that you can find. Apple pies, pumpkin pies, blueberry pies are just some of the many delicious pies you can serve at dinner.

 

  • Stuffing

A stuffed turkey is the best part of the dinner we all have been waiting for. There are different kinds of stuffings you can make whether you place it inside the turkey, or serve it separately. You have stuffings such as… Cranberry and Walnut, Spicy Chorizo Cornbread Sage Dressing, Butternut Squash and Wild Mushroom.

 

  • Mashed Potatoes

The all-time favorite mashed potatoes. Who could forget about this traditional, delicious dish? You take 8 to 10 potatoes peel them and cut them into quarters. Then you grab a teaspoon of salt, two tablespoons of butter, a dash of pepper and ¼ cup of hot milk. After getting together your ingredients, you put the potatoes in a saucepan, adding ¾ teaspoons of salt. Boil for 15 to 20 minutes and then drain the water. You then mash the potatoes, add the butter, the remaining salt and enough milk to make it smooth and creamy giving you the wonderfully made mashed potatoes.

 

  • Turkey

Saving the best for last, the turkey is the traditional main dish we all love to eat at Thanksgiving dinner. Whether it is stuffed or surrounded by veggies, the turkey must be served. There are multiple ways of making the famous turkey. You can make it oven baked, roasted or fried, but for those who prefer something a little different you have turkey sandwiches. Regardless of which way you love your turkey remember the turkey is a must have for Thanksgiving dinner.

 

Thanksgiving is a time to spend with family and friends, and most importantly for showing gratitude. Wherever you find yourself during this time of year, these 5 foods are here to help you. Making the dinner can be stressful, but it always helps to have a list of ideas. Now go and gobble away.
